Sense And Sensibility (Penguin Popular Classics) is the classic romance novel written by Jane Austen. It examines the story of two sisters, Elinor and Marianne, who after their father’s death, begin to live with their mother. After a series of events, their mother, Mrs Dashwood is left with no choice but to move her family away to a cottage in Devonshire, where Marianne encounters the debonair John Willoughby.

Marianne’s infatuation toward Willoughby forms a cause of concern to Elinor and Elinor tries to warn Marianna but in vain. On the other hand, there is the shy and reserved Mr Edward Ferrars, who in spite of his lineage, stands apart from the crowd and tries to look his best in front of Elinor. This story of the two sisters, who are like two sides of a coin, is one of heartbreak, trust and rediscovering romance in the most uncommon of places.

Jane Austen’s writing will be familiar to any of those people with an interest in classic nineteenth-century literature. With a story of new beginnings, Sense And Sensibility encourages women to go forth and find their love.

Sense And Sensibility (Penguin Popular Classics), written by Jane Austen, was published in 2007 by Penguin Classics. It is available in paperback.
